UMMA Community Clinic is the medical home to over 25,000 adults and children living
in South Los Angeles. For our patients, UMMA is possibly the only source of health care,
and without us, many conditions would go undiagnosed or untreated.
UMMA emphasizes the need for regular follow ups, which include screenings,
immunizations and patient education as well as life-style modification. In many cases,
patients are seen by a regular provider, and typically provided with medication for any
diagnosed conditions at either no cost or low cost depending on ability to pay. If a
patient requires more advanced tests or specialty care, UMMA will provide an in-house
referral to our volunteer specialist or a referral to a local county medical facility.
Currently UMMA and its staff of family doctors provide the following medical services:
• Family and Internal Medicine
• Adolescent Medicine
• Pediatrics/Childhood Immunizations
• On-site Mammography
• On-site Laboratory/Pharmacy
• Prenatal Care
• HIV/STD Testing
• Family/contraceptive planning
• Health Education
• Women’s Health
• Direct referrals to local county facilities
UMMA provides the following in-house specialty services with a referral by one of our doctors:
• Gynecology
• Ophthalmology
• Dermatology
• Renal
• Geriatrics
• Nephrology
It is the mission of UMMA staff to help heal the South Los Angeles community by providing
the best possible health care regardless of ability to pay.
